ATLANTA, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ — Following the successful launch of Vanilla Coke, consumers have been asking one question — “Will there be a diet Vanilla Coke?” Today, that questioned is being answered and the response is, “Yes.”
In mid-October, a diet version of Vanilla Coke will begin a national rollout. Thousands of consumers have contacted The Coca-Cola Company asking for diet Vanilla Coke, and the quick launch of this new brand is in response to that overwhelming consumer interest.
“Vanilla Coke has been a big hit, but diet drinkers have resoundingly told us they want a vanilla option, too. So we’re giving them what they’ve asked for,” said Chris Lowe, chief marketing officer, Coca-Cola North America Division. “People are seeking variety now more than ever, and the launch of diet Vanilla Coke is another example of how we are creating new brands to give consumers the choices that they want.”
New diet Vanilla Coke has a stylishly fun personality and smooth flavor profile that is like a blend of diet Coke with a hint of vanilla flavor. Packaging for diet Vanilla Coke will combine the design of Vanilla Coke, including the vanilla color and the Coca-Cola script, with familiar diet Coke features such as the distinctive use of silver, which has become synonymous with the brand.
Coca-Cola introduced diet Coke in 1982; Cherry Coke in 1985 and later a diet version; diet Coke with lemon in 2001; Vanilla Coke in May of 2002; and now Diet Vanilla Coke.
