Review: Cherry 7Up
Jun 2nd, 2004 by Steve
Cherry 7Up is one of my favorite drinks. It's light, has a clean flavor, and is caffeine free. Beyond that, it has a taste and flavor combination that is pretty unique in the soft drink world.
This drink was introduced in the late 1980s and was even advertised in a commercial with Matt LeBlanc, who went on to star in NBC's Friends as Joey.
That commercial spotlighted on 7Up was now colored pink, and frankly, that's a great way to describe the beverage. It's a light pink color that still looks like a lemon-lime beverage.
When you open the bottle, you are greeted by a light cherry scent, with a bubbly nature. Yes, it smells like 7Up, but more than that. The flavor itself is pretty clean… lightweight, but with a sweet cherry flavor. It's not overpowering, but it does possess quite a bit of carbonation. Still, it's this type of light flavor that goes well with meals or snacks and does not overwhelm other tastes. The aftertaste is pretty subtle and not syrupy.
Overall, it's a solid beverage. I mean, where else are you going to find a cherry-flavored lemon-lime drink that is subtle? Pretty much nowhere else!

Cherry 7Up is a unique beverage that really hasn't been duplicated by other brands. It's clean taste, subtle cherry flavor, and complimentary nature make it a winner!
