Review: Mike’s Hard Crisp Apple

So, will the world revolt when they see that there’s a beverage review on BevReview.com for something with alcohol in it? :) (It’s not typically our pattern, but we make exceptions from time to time.)

Mike’s Hard Crisp Apple

I’m not a big drinker. Not a fan of the taste of alcohol. It’s no surprise that I prefer a good soft drink. However, I do enjoy the taste of Mike’s Hard Lemonade et al. There’s just enough fruity flavor in these flavored malt beverages to make them enjoyable, with that hint of “yeah, I’m drinkin’.”

Personally, I really like the citrusy flavors (Mike’s Hard Lemonade and Mike’s Hard Lime) while Amy prefers the berry flavors (Mike’s Hard Berry and Mike’s Hard Cranberry Lemonade). The company (which is based in Canada, incidentally, but distributes in the U.S.) recently released Mike’s Hard Crisp Apple.

The beverage has a yellow color, but more of a dirty yellow. The packaging resembles that of the Lime flavor, with more of a yellowish green color scheme. Actually, that’s one thing I really like about the Mike’s line… the packaging. Very clear and clean regarding branding and flavor identification. Upon opening the bottle, there’s an obvious apple smell. And the taste? It’s apple (probably more of the Golden Delicious variety rather than a Gala)… but with a small kick. Overall, not an overpowering alcoholic flavor. The taste is rather strong.

After drinking, I think I have to use the bathroom more often. Note that for future reference should you try this beverage! :) (5% alcohol by volume)
