EDIT:

I just noticed this article was posted in 2007 so they changed to sugar a long time ago and that means I always had the cane sugar version. So I don't know why it seems less sweet to me this time. Maybe its just my taste buds tonight.

The original Jones Cream Soda was sweeter so If you think it is sweet now...I haven't found any for over 2 years and today I seen it in a store so I bought a bunch cause it was my favorite and don't know if they will keep in in stock. I was a bit disappointed. It does not taste like I remember, it is now no longer sweet enough imo. I liked the super sweetness of the cream soda. Thats why it was my favorite. Now it taste more like a vanilla mineral water or something. I like it overly sweet. I miss the corn syrup...maybe I can add some?

I still like it but its not how I remember it a couple of years ago. And I am not sure when they changed to cane sugar but since it taste less sweet to me I am assuming the version I had before had corn syrup.

I loved drinking Jones Cream soda. Then developed type 2 diabetes, and now wish for a sugar free Jones Cream soda! Especially, since Jones has a sugar free Blackberry soda ; and it appears to be another "cash cow " for the Jones soda company.

I didn't initially think of cotton candy, but now that you mention it, Jones Cane Cream Soda DOES actually have the caramelized taste of cotton candy...and that's its real charm. The slightly burnt taste lingers on the palate, the carbonation is finer and more refreshing than that of most mass-market sodas, and there isn't the sticky, syrupy effect on your mouth that other beverages leave behind. GREAT stuff!

I'm seventy and I was blessed to live when sodas had real sugar in them, or so I think. There as a time when Coke had cocain in it , go look at the history as to why they had to take it out-you'd be suprised! I remember very hot summer days in Savannah, Waynesboro, Ga when we kids would go to the local gas station or general store and pull a cold Coke from the water, buy a package of good ole' Tom's salted peanuts, pour them into the coke bottle and sit back and receive the "pause that refereshes". High fructos corn syrup dosen't come anywhere near the delicious refreshing energy restoring joy of a 1940's Coke, Pepsie etc. In fact the syrup they use now actually causes you to put on weight and basically sucks when it comes to a 1940's Coke or Pepsie. Regardless of the cost, I'd take a Jones soda cause it is so close to the sparkle and tingle that the 1940's sodas had. High fructos corn syrup gives you no energy! It just makes money for the manufactuers at your loss.
