I commend Coke for trying. I would have preferred to have had the French version. As both a coffee and diet coke lover, I was excited to see this when it came out. I like the effervescence of soda and the taste of coffee, so naturally I thought the combination of the two could work. Rumor had it that Starbucks was working on a similar drink but never released it. I bet theirs would have been better since they would have come from the coffee side rather than from the cola side. Blak was too sweet and masked the coffee flavor. Hopefully someone out there someday will get this underappreciated flavor combo right. Or I might just have to move to France.

I don't know what Coke was doing here. If you want your soda to sell, don't ridiculously overprice it. I liked Coke Blak when it came out, but that price-tag kept me from being a repeat buyer. I don't know who came up with the idea of a 4-pack with 8 oz bottles, but that was pretty stupid in my opinion. I'm used to 20 oz. bottles of soda, to have to pay for a 4-pack where 3.5 bottles equals the same amount of soda as 1 bottle of normal soda, it was very aggravating. I guess if I want my coffee cola fix, I'm going to have to mix it myself.
