OK, so I know what you are thinking. “Cocoa-flavored soda? Gross!” Surprisingly, this holiday trend of chocolate-influenced drinks (started with Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr Pepper) is actually pretty good. Our beverage review of Jones Soda Christmas Cocoa Soda notes that it actually DOES taste like cocoa… and that’s a good thing. Very unique flavor, nice balance of carbonation and taste, and a welcoming aroma make this installment of the 2007 Jones Soda Holiday collection a winner!
Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr Pepper is actually very good! It you are a diet drink lover and are seeking a new flavor… or even if you are a mainstream beverage drinker curious about this flavor combination, it’s worth a try. As a limited time drink, I hope it does well in the marketplace!
The revisionist history by Cadbury Schweppes regarding Dr Pepper sparks a fire under your BevReview.com host, prompting a little reeducation for these obviously clueless marketing executives. And here you thought Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr Pepper was just going to be an interesting, new, limited-time flavor!
Jones Soda surprises with a holiday flavor that doesn’t prompt me to vomit! Gingerbread Man Soda is actually pretty good. There’s a nice influence of spices, creating a festive feel, much like the long-forgotten Pepsi Holiday Spice. This flavor is part of the 2007 Jones Soda Holiday collection and is only available in 4-Pack packaging.
Just as Jones Soda is now the official beverage of Qwest Field/Seattle Seahawks, they now are going to hold that same title for an NBA team. Yes, they beat out Coke and Pepsi for beverage sponsorship of the Barclays Center, where the New Jersey Nets will start playing in 2009.
This beverage review takes a look at Sun Drop, a citrus-flavored soda from Cadbury Schweppes. Similar in color, smell, and taste as Pepsi’s Mountain Dew or Coke’s Vault, it’s highlighted by the inclusion of actual orange juice, a snappier flavor, and a pretty high dose of caffeine. Good luck finding it, however. It’s highly regional!
