Overview: Jones Soda Holiday 2007
Nov 8th, 2007 by Steve
It's the time of year that every goofy beverage enthusiast like myself looks forward to… the announcement of the Jones Soda Holiday collection of flavors! You can bet we'll be reviewing each and every one of these flavors here on BevReview.com, just as we have these past few years.

Back in September I got a call from my friend Nicko, who runs our affiliated mothership website, ChefTalk.com. He told me that during lunch at a restaurant, he ran into a couple of Jones Soda representatives. Striking up a conversation with them, they mentioned how Turkey & Gravy Soda would not be returning this holiday season. Rather, Jones was doing Jewish flavors instead.

Jewish flavors? Nicko and I pondered this for a while and wondered if these guys were just pulling our legs. But…
This Season Celebrate Christmukkah with Jones Soda! The Holiday Season is once again upon us and this year the folks here at Jones Soda have decided to celebrate a little differently. Instead of our traditional Turkey and Gravy, we have created two packs for your holiday enjoyment. Introducing, the 2007 Christmas Pack and Chanukah Pack. This season, whether you are decking the halls, lighting the menorah or celebrating Chrismakkuh by spinning the dreidel under the Christmas tree, there is a Jones Soda flavor for you!
Yes, it's true. Turkey & Gravy, RIP (2003-2006).
Let's take at these two holiday collections. In contrast to previous years, there are only 4 bottles in the packs vs. 5. (Though, the pricepoint is about the same… go figure).
First, the Christmas Pack, which according to the official description, comes with "1 very cool stocking stuffer." In this case, it's a foam airplane glider you put together (mine was partially broken while still in the packaging!)

The 4 flavors are as follows:
- Christmas Ham Soda (New for 2007)
- Christmas Tree Soda (New for 2007)
- Egg Nog Soda (Rerun from 2006)
- Sugar Plum Soda (Rerun from 2006)

Then there is the new, 100% Kosher, caffeine-free Chanukah Pack. (Incidentally, the Christmas Pack also features those same attributes). Plus, you get "1 completely functional dreidel."

These 4 fun flavors include:
- Latke Soda (New for 2007)
- Apple Sauce Soda (New for 2007)
- Chocolate Coins Soda (New for 2007)
- Jelly Doughnut Soda (New for 2007)

Additionally, it should be noted that Jones is releasing various 4-Packs this season, including:
- Gingerbread Man Soda (New for 2007)
- Candy Cane Soda (Rerun from 2006)
- Christmas Cocoa Soda (New for 2007)
All of these flavors are sweetened with inverted cane sugar, which frankly is a big relief as the Holiday Packs from previous years involved Splenda. Yuck!
Finally, Jones is rereleasing last year's Dessert Pack exclusively via Target. It's pretty much the same as the 2006 version with a couple of notable changes. First off is the reduction of 5 flavors down to 4, using the box style that is also used for both the Christmas and Chanukah Packs. Gone is the best tasting soda, in my opinion, Key Lime Pie Soda. Banana Cream Pie Soda is also absent from the collection. However, one new flavor was added. Additionally, like the rest of Jones' lineup, the 2007 flavors are sweetened with inverted cane sugar, but the rest of the formulas remain the same. The 4 flavors in the 2007 Dessert Pack rerelease include:
- Cherry Pie Soda (Rerun from 2006)
- Lemon Meringue Pie Soda (New for 2007)
- Blueberry Pie Soda (Rerun from 2006)
- Apple Pie Soda (Rerun from 2006)

With all these flavors, you have to be asking yourself if Christmas Ham the "new" Turkey & Gravy? You'll have to keep reading BevReview.com to find out!
