How would you like to get some free stuff from BevReview.com? Well, then, keep reading and you'll learn how!
As regular readers know, we've talked quite a bit about the DEWmocracy campaign from Pepsi, started late last year in the quest to select the next Mountain Dew flavor.
Over the summer, 3 choices were featured:
When the voting closed at the end of July, Mountain Dew Voltage was declared the winner!
As Pepsi gears up to formally relaunch Mountain Dew Voltage to the world as the big new flavor, they've been inviting folks to submit their own ideas on how to do that at DewmocracyVoltage.com. If you are selected as the grand prize winning idea, you'll win a trip for you and a friend to see the whole thing unfold live. 2 runners-up will get a year's supply of Mountain Dew. So, if you haven't done so already, why not submit your idea for a chance to win. But hurry, ideas need to be submitted via the site by Tuesday, October 14 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
While we're on the theme of winning stuff, the kind folks at Mountain Dew have provided me with some Voltage swag to giveaway to faithful readers of BevReview.com. That would be you! In my bag of goodies I've got some hats, pens, and some pretty nifty looking bracelet/USB drives. Here's how you can win:
- Write a comment to this post stating whether or not you have actually tried Mountain Dew Voltage. If so, tell me what you thought about it.
- Tell me how you heard about this giveaway from BevReview… was it by browsing, RSS feeds, Twitter, etc.?
- Share what your favorite soft drink is and why
I'll be randomly selecting winners from those who have posted the above. You have until Friday, October 24 to submit your responses. (Only U.S. residents please… Sorry friends in Canada!)
What are you waiting for? Submit your ideas to DewmocracyVoltage.com… and then comment on this post to win some free stuff. You can't beat that!

Yes, I've had Voltage -blah, a little weird. Every time they they to improve on Mountain Dew "classic" (or introduce a drink nothing like Dew and steal the name) it never comes close to rich zingy Mmm-Mmm taste of Dew Classic. (a term I think I've invented to distinquish Mountain Dew from all the Pepsi knock offs which come off as an attempt to get faithful Dew drinkers to try new drinks we'd never try without the "Dew" label. (it works, I buy them all ONCE, they are never worth a second purchase)
I heard of the contest via Twitter.
And, I think you can deduce my favorite drink from above: Mountain Dew Classic.
I didn't get a chance to try Mountain Dew Voltage because the Dewmocracy flavors weren't available in diet. Hopefully when Voltage is unveiled to the world, it'll come in diet — I'm excited to try a new Dew. Currently, my favorite soft drink is Diet Pepsi Max — I'm not sure that the caffeine or ginseng make a difference, but it does seem to taste different (better?) than normal Diet Pepsi.
Anyway, I saw this contest in my RSS feed. In fact, I tracked the whole Dewmocracy campaign on BevReview that way.
1. I've tried Voltage – I drank a few 20 oz. bottles and a whole 12 pack of cans. It was ok, it was my favorite of the 3 (raspberry), but nothing holds a candle to original Dew. I most likely will not drink a lot of it when it becomes a permanent product.
2. I heard about this giveaway on your Facebook status update! I want free Mountain Dew swag!!!
3. My favorite soft drink is original Mountain Dew because it tastes so yummy and makes me feel so good! I also really like Live Wire.

dew-yah!
1. I haven't tried MD Volatge, but will look for it the next time I go shopping.
2. I heard about this giveaway on ChefTalk Cooking Forums.
3. My current favorite soft drink is Coke Zero. I've been drinking more diet colas lately, and Zero has a better aftertaste than others I've tried.
Revolution was my favorite from this release, but Voltage was second. The two were so similar that I would get them confused when speaking to others about the latest flavors. I'm not sure if I will be a long term drinker of Voltage, I'll give it another try next time I pick up a 20 oz. I'm curious if pepsi will can this flavor?
I heard about this contest over instant messenger.
My current favorite soft drink is regular mt dew, in a 20 oz. bottle. In fact, I prefer the 20 oz. bottle over the 1 liter (i know that sounds crazy, but my mind notices something). Lemon lime is by far my favorite flavoring for soda. I think my long term dedication to Mt dew is more about brand loyalty than flavor. I have liked other competitors just as much, and enjoy the variation.
Yes, I tried Voltage. In fact, I tried all three flavors. I hated Supernova, but Voltage and Revolution were both good (although I personally preferred Revolution). In fact, these two flavors are the first two alternate Dews I have ever liked (and yes, I have tried them all). I think the reason I liked these and not the other flavors is that they retain the "refreshingness" of classic lemon-lime dew.
My two favorite sodas are Coca-Cola and Mt. Dew. Actually, though, if you can find Kosher soda (or buy the bevs in a different country) you'll find that they have sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup, and they taste much better. I find Mt Dew to be the most refreshing soda, and Coca-Cola has one of the best overall flavors.
I heard about this from the TannerWorld Junction.
Well my initial impression of Voltage was mediocre at best. It seemed that the flavor didn't come out as strong as others. Particularly original Mt. Dew and Live wire. I would describe the flavor as "muted". For some reason the Original MT. Dew gives me a stomache ache so Live Wire has become my favorite. My boys and wife both prefer "Classic" as described by Karl B. But I do note that Voltage still makes it home from the grocery store on occasion!
I came here by way of following this blog and facebook!
I have not tried any of the Dewmocracy spinoffs.
I heard about this through twitter.
My favorite soda of late has been the new Energy version of the Vitaminwater line of flavored waters. It comes in a 20oz can and is actually hard to find. I mostly see it at 7-11s and at gas stations on the interstate highway. I like the citrus flavor.
Voltage was ok: good but not mind blowing.
Heard about it on Twitter.
Fav softdrink right now is originial Dew or Cranberry Sierra Mist.
I guess I am an old classic at heart. I still LOVE the original DEW. I have tried all the various version they have introduced and the only one that I may choose as an alternative to the orginal is CODE RED. The others all take a distant third and so on. The Ptch Black was OK, but I find all these new flavors just introducing different berry anf ruit blends and seem to leave the orginal DEW behind. My only switch recently has been to the AMP Energy drink. I starting with that to give me a little pick me up and lower my sugar intake (AMP has less sugar per serving than the regular dew). Of course I had to try the various version of the energy drinks to and they again have their own unique taste. Again I prefer to stay with the orginal.
I tried all three and enjoyed supernova and voltage.
I have cut back my Mt.Dew drinking sadly but do enjoy one occasionally!
I heard about this on Kidology
My drink of choice right now is Diet Coke, Please forgive me! I still love the dew products!
1. I have never tried Mountain Dew Voltage and had no idea until today that Pepsi had experimented with three flavors.
2. I head about this thread through the BevReview.com Twitter feed. I am an avid Twitter'er
3. Right now I'm on a Mug Rootbeer stint. It is cool, refreshing, with no bitter aftertaste. Not only that It goes down well with the Allegra-D I'm on right now, is readily available in the office soft drink machine that supports our church youth group, and is caffeine free.
I do like the Voltage Dew. I have tried all three, and really had no favorite out of those three. I do have the occasional original Dew, but only if Coke is nowhere to be found. I also really much more enjoy the taste of those made with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup as well.
I heard about this thread from Kidology.org
My all-time favorite soda is Coke with a shot of vanilla flavoring (NOT Vanilla Coke –ick!!) I used to go to a local restaurant here in WI that had the "soda bar" and you could get vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or cherry flavors added to your soda. It just is NOT the same with Pepsi though! (Although I tried strawberry with Sierra Mist…that was pretty good!)
Wow! You've had a busy week on your site, Steve.
On my part, I haven't had the chance to try MD Voltage, but would try it out given the chance. And I'm coming here via the Kidology forum post.
Lastly, my favorite soda is Pepsi One and Diet Pepsi Max is a close second. I usually stick with the diet beverages for the past two years.
Yes, I have MD Voltage. It was okay, but I am a purist and like MD pure and simple! I am coming here via Kidology, too. We stick together. I am a Pepsi drinker when I drink soft drinks!
Alright, to be honest, I drink Mountain Dew (the regular green stuff)when I'm headed for class on Sunday mornings and didn't have time for Starbucks! (Nothing like a bottle of Dew swishing in your tummy while jumping around with a bunch of preschoolers….although that may be the reason I'm able to!!) I'm a "whatever I'm in the mood for" drinker – which is mostly an ice cold Pepsi. I did however, purchase the Mountain Dew flavors for my son – he's liked all the flavors – and the cool metal bottles. Oh, I tabbed over here from Kidology!!
Nope…haven't tried Mountain Dew Voltage yet. I first heard about it from a post on Kidology's The Kids Have Gone Home forum…and I noticed with horror that today is the 24th! As for my favorite soft drink, I'd have to say Coke.

Yes I have tried Mtn Dew voltage and all I could say was wow the first time I tried it I knew I was addicted to that and also I like to mix voltage with regular mtn Dew and it taste awesome and I tell I need some more dew very very very badly.

I'm actually at an age where I need to start switching to diet versions of drinks. I can't drink Diet Dew because it contains aspartame. There is no way I'm going to ingest that kind of rat poison. I'll use tobbacco for 50 years before I start ingesting aspartame in every can of soda. If you don't understand what aspartame does, you should read up:
http://www.wnho.net/history_of_aspartame.htm
Since I'm looking to switch to Diet, I'm looking for something like Mt. Dew that is sweetened with only Splenda or Saccharin, both of which seem pretty safe for humans and rats alike. It is doubtful that PepsiCo has enough cash and insurance to cover the eventual suits for aspartame damages. That's going to sweep through the personal injury lawyer market like the asbestos claims did years ago.
Has anyone found a good Splenda sweetened alternative to Dew?
1. Yes I tried it, it was just OK, it looks too much like windshield wiper fluid.
2.I found this by searching for Mountain Dew stuff on my Swagbucks bar.
3. My favorite drink of all time is without a doubt the original MOUNTAIN DEW!!!! I even have it tattooed on my belly.
i love the org.mountain dew i go threw about 4 12 pkgs. a week i dont drink nothing but the dew,nothing else.and i love nascar,number 88 all the way!!!!!go no.88
nothing but the dew mt. dew the tried all mt.dew newbees not a fan love the original nothing else can take its place i drink nothing but the best
nah the original aint nothin to the red WOW game fuel its just simpley the best
It was the best out of the new ones. Nothing will ever be as good as the original, but the live wire stuff is really good too.
