Back in October 2008 when PepsiCo reported bad 3rd Quarter earnings for their beverage division, a lot of changes went into motion. One of those initiatives was the Pepsi logo redesign. However, some new products were mentioned as well. One of those, as reported by Brandweek, was Sierra Mist Ruby Splash.

Described as a "unique flavor combination of lemon, lime and a splash of ruby grapefruit", this drink is one of the many flavor editions that have been rolled out based on the Sierra Mist brand, including Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash (Holiday 2006-8), Sierra Mist Lemon Squeeze (Summer 2007), and Sierra Mist Undercover Orange (Summer 2008). (No word yet if we'll ever see the likes of Sierra Mist Mojito Splash or Sierra Mist Next, however.)
Sierra Mist Ruby Splash is being given a preview introduction at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) music/film/interactive festival in Austin, TX from March 13-22. Pepsi is hosting a "Sierra Mist Ruby Splash Sun Lounge" where they are offering free samples of both Sierra Mist Ruby Splash and Diet Sierra Mist Ruby Splash, as well as mixing it in cocktails.
If you poke around the United States Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Electronic Search System, you'll find that Pepsi applied for a trademark on the Sierra Mist Ruby Splash name on September 5, 2008.
The new drink is clear, coming in packaging that sports the new Sierra Mist logo. This logo denotes a "misty" fade on the phrase "Mist", while pulling the green, white, and yellow of the flagship flavor.
The Ruby Splash derivative ads a light pink color to this branding scheme, as noted by the folks over at Belching Monkey, who are at SXSW and shot a video of the tasting experience. Descriptions from that video seem to indicate that it tastes a bit like Squirt. Hmmm, funny how there is already a Ruby Red Squirt flavor!
Keep your eyes peeled for this new drink!
This drink is so boring. There is absolutely no taste whatsoever. Don't even buy this if you can't find Ruby Red Squirt, the greatest soda ever.

we have enjoyed many cans of SIERRA MIST since its release, since we could not find only RUBYSPLASH we purchased thiis ,it is the worst tasting drink we have had. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL drink would great;y appreciate it.

Sierra Mist Ruby Splash is fantastic. Nice grapefruit flavor in addition to the original, no bitterness. I dread the day when this becomes hard to find. Easily works as a great mixer with vodka or gin. Recommend it highly.
Has more of a grapefuit rind flavor not grapefruit juice flavor.
Sierra Mist Ruby SPLASH… Loved it. The flavor is just right, not too much but just enough to get the point across. Good with mixing. HIghly recommended to others.

This is my new favorite drink. Very refreshing. Love it.
Just tried this yesterday and I instantly liked it. I ocassionally get Sierra Mist as a slight change of pace from Sprite, but I think it's not quite as good as Sprite. But I prefer the Ruby Splash to regular Sierra Mist. The "Ruby" flavor gives it a nice little bite and finish you don't usually get from all the mostly overly sweet sodas's these days. I enjoyed this product and would try it again.
The Cranberry splash is good but it has an aftertaste that wore on me after buying it a few times, plus the red is too strong and stains. I noticed it was staining my glasses a lot so I can only imagine what it does to your teeth.
Love it, the best thing pepsi has ever come out with, hope they keep it around for a long time
A co worker of mine let me try this drink today and WOW i love it!! I have never been so pleased to have grapefruit in my drink. You mixed the perfect amount of Ruby Splash with the Sierra Mist. By far, my most favorite drink!!
Only problem is, I havent been able to locate them anymore….
I picked up the Diet Ruby Splash by mistake and my husband and I both agreed that it tasted wonderful. I like the "old" look of the can better than the new one. Please keep it around at least for the summer.
Love the Diet Sierra Mist Ruby Splash, drinking it right now as a matter of fact. The new label design is an improvement over the first, which I always thought looked like a cheap store label soda.
I don't like Sierra Mist, but my daughter bought a Sierra Mist with Ruby Red splash and I love it. It became the only soda I could drink. Of course now I can hardly find it anywhere! Why do they do that?
Our family exists on Ruby Splash. Can't find it in the Statesville-Troutman-Mooresville, NC area beginning this week. Whats up. We need it. My daughter is coming home for the week and the Cranberry won't cut it.

I love the taste of Sierra Mist Ruby Splash and cranberry. It is my favorite drink now. My only wish is that they sell it in six and eight packs, so I can buy more of it. I can only find it in the large bottle Thanks Pepsi!
i like sierra mist reminds me of the way sprite used to taste like,add ruby red and omg……………love it, love love it…………..why they stopped making it was a big mistake
Don't stop making it. My husband and I love the ruby red mist. Every time I see it in the store I try to buy as much as possible cause it is so hard to find and now all the stores i go to don't have them. Bring it back …PLEASE!
i finally found a soda that i like and now it is no where to be found in the stores. What is up with that? You people hit one on the head and then pull it from the shelves? Bring that home run back! PLEASE!

They've discontinued it without any warning. I've written Pepsi several times, to no avail. I'm really sickened that I can't find my favorite drink. I even drove 100 miles away to find it, notta!
This Ruby drinker is really pizzed off!
I only drink Diet Sierra Mist Ruby Slash. Why would they disconntinue making it. If anything they should start putting it in 20 ounce bottles and sell them at convenience stores. If your not selling enough it may be due to the limited availability. Sinse drinking this soda all other sodas, including diet soda, are too sweet tasting now. Thanks to Pepsi I will do what most doctors recommend and start drinking more water
sierra mist ruby splash (not diet) was my favorite drink and have been watching every grocery store, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. and can not find. I thought perhaps it was a seasonal drink and replaced by cranberry splash for fall and winter, but have not been able to find this spring. Where can I find, or is it off the market?
