When I tried Pepsi TB for the first time (45 years old, grew up drinking only sugar sodas) I didn't like it at all but my taste buds had got used to the HFCS so I had to keep going with Pepsi TB and now I am hooked. I can't drink HFCS anymore because they taste AWFUL now. The TB really leaves me satisfied but I always wanted to drink more with HFCS (2 to 3 times as much). This is ploy of the soda companies and Coca Cola is worst of them all. I have tried MexiCoke and it not bad either. My advice, give the sugar sodas a week or two and you will be hooked but I believe you will drink less soda in the long run (it just satisfies better).

I wrote Pepsi and they responded saying:
"The caramel flavoring is produced by heating sugar, corn syrup, molasses, starch or other carbohydrates under strictly controlled conditions. It is one of the most extensively tested food additives and the US Food & Drug Administration has determined that it is safe. So since we use corn syrup, I would assume that the caramel coloring / flavor does have corn in it."

-So unfortunately I will have to look for something safer for me since I am corn sensitive.

From ALL my drinking habits (and Mexicans LOVE drinking sugar) I CAN'T STAND HFCS sugar but would tolerate it more than beet based Throwback crud. Coca Cola from MX tastes even better than Pepsi because of the less HFCS that is used. Throwback is not authentic. It uses beet sugar that tastes bitter.

Pepsi is been lots of efforts in the repackaging and branding of there products and they very well know what exactly they have to do to come up against there arch rivals coca cola, the competition is getting stiff.

If Pepsi knows what's good for them they'll never discontinue this! I wasn't drinking the HFCS formula for years and now I know why! Ever since throwback, I'm a Pepsi fan again.

I think the key here is can and plastic bottle.I worked for coke in the 60's and when cans came out, people complained about the nasty taste.so I remembered what my parents did. I put a glass mug in the freezer for about an hour, filled it with ice, poured the the throwback over them and let it "breathe" . when I tasted, it was the old taste from the past. when I didn't do this I got the can or plastic taste

Second that. Not a fan of Pepsi Throwback. It made me want to throw it right back where I bought it. Too sweet and leaves an unwanted sugar film in my mouth. I do get nostalgic seeing that glass Pepsi bottle though.

I agree with John and Frank. I don't like Pepsi Throwback. It taste nothing like it did in the 70's and that is a shame. My husband bought 2 - 12packs. Even my 12 year old daughter didn't like it. Had to pawn it off on the grandkids. They will drink anything. I know that's true because they drank the Pepsi Throwback.
