Good News! As of March 2011, both Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback are permanent additions to the Pepsi lineup!
With this week’s release of Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback, there has been a lot of buzz about these new drinks. And why not? It’s not often we get a sugar-sweetened soft drink from an industry giant!
In fact, to help celebrate the kickoff of the Throwbacks, a package arrived here at BevReview HQ yesterday with a very cool retro lunchbox, sporting Pepsi logos. To my surprise, I found a can of both Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback inside. I’d like to thank the folks at Pepsi for sending along their unique gift to help promote the festiveness of the occasion.
That said, there are probably many of you out there in cyberspace still looking for the Throwbacks. Taking a look at the comments posted here on BevReview, e-mails sent to us, and interactions on Twitter, everyone is trying to track them down.
Might we suggest using Twitter to help find locations near you? Here’s how you can do it.
If you FOUND Throwbacks: Post a tweet providing the city and state, along with the store location. Then add the hashtag #throwback to your post. Your update might look something like this:
- Chicago, IL – Found Pepsi #Throwback bottles at 7-Eleven on corner of Belmont and Austin
The use of the #Throwback is called a hashtag, which allows others who use Twitter to search on that term and find your post about these drinks.
If you are LOOKING for Throwbacks: Fire up Twitter Search and search on the term #Throwback. All posts that have been tagged with that hashtag will pull up. Hopefully, others who have found the drinks will note their locations. With a little luck and a lot of help, maybe some of those locations will be in your area.
Let’s all work together on this! It will only work if we all contribute to sharing information.
To get you started, here are the last 10 posts on Twitter that have been tagged with #Throwback:
