DEWmocracy 2 has ended, the "crowdsourced" promotional campaign to select Mountain Dew's next flavor. Started in 2009, this second iteration of DEWmocracy produced three finalists by which America could vote upon. The winner of the first DEWmocracy was Mountain Dew Voltage.

The voting closed in mid-June. The winner is Mountain Dew White Out, the oddly white-colored, mildly citrus-infused flavor of the bunch.
Per the results provided by PepsiCo (which were based on online voting, not sales), 44% of the vote went to White Out, 40% to Typhoon, and 16% to Distortion.
Look for Mtn Dew White Out to claim its proper place in the Dew empire this fall when it's formally released as the new flavor.
Oh boy, the weakest and least appealing flavor won. It's funny that as popular as White Out supposedly was, I don't personally know anyone who liked it. Oh well, it's not like they're getting rid of any of the good flavors for this…
do you know how long (if at all) the other two flavors will stick around for? i still never could find typhoon in the grocery stores here (boston of all places!) but they always had distortion and white out. i just bought a couple bottles of distortion last week…since it didn't win and everyone hates it i'm kind of hoping for a big clearance sale so i can stockpile, lol.

Whiteout was by far…the best new flavor! I could never find it, everywhere i went they were always sold out, at least in Detroit area. I am looking forward to finally being able to get my hands on it.
Typhoon should have won…it was by far the best new flavor of Dew…I hope they bring it back because they will miss out on a lot of sales if they don't!!!
I will have to say typhoon was the best one outta the 3 whiteout was good but typhoon had a sweet yet relaxing flavor

I thought that White Out would've made a decent diet drink, but the regular version was a bit overwhelming for my tastes. I was really hoping that Distortion would win, but I'd really like to see Moutain Dew bring back Pitch Black and Pitch Black II!

Any whiteout fans look out for a huge revamp of whiteout in oct we weren't given an exact date when in dewlabs but were just told oct would be it

hey i know what u mean, but way better the winner be white out than Distortion, that stuff was weird as hell tasting.. its a shame typhoon lost, that one had the biggest yet smooth flavor
When the event began I purchased three cases of MD, Typhoon, Distortion and White Out. Distortion made me want to puke, its flavor was horrible. Typhoon was decent, my wife liked it more than me. White out was the winner for me, I instantly got on xbox live and cast my vote for white out, then told my friends to vote for it as well. White Out tastes way better than the other two, imo. Still, Ill probably stockpile some Typhoon for my wife, since she enjoys the flavor.
Also to the noob with a capslock problem. olflolflrofl caps is autopilot for cool amirite.

Typhoon will be missed. but i'm guessing it will come back eventually
