News: Mountain Dew Typhoon returning in 2011, along with Pitch Black and Supernova

Per reports from Dew Labs, Mountain Dew's marketing/social research community, we'll see a return of Mountain Dew Typhoon for a limited time starting May 16.

Dew Labs notes that Typhoon will only be available in 2-liter bottles from Walmart. You may recall that Typhoon was one of the three flavors featured as part of the DEWmocracy 2 campaign, which along with Mountain Dew Distortion, lost to Mountain Dew White Out.

Mountain Dew Pitch Black & Supernova

This is the third release as part of the "Back By Popular DEW-mand" program. We have previously reported on the return of both Mountain Dew Pitch Black (2004) and Mountain Dew Supernova (2008).

    Someone tell Mtn Dew to keep Diet Voltage and to bring back Diet Ultra Violet. Also, are we ever going to see a Diet Livewire?

    Pitch Black is my favorite and most anticipated return for Dew.

    I love the fact that pitch black and supernova is coming back in May for a limited time, but the return of typhoon is just rediculous and way too soon because it was dewmocracy 2 last year.

    Definitely most excited for Pitch Black since I never tried it. The other two were pretty average, I thought.

    I thought Typhoon was pretty good. I kinda excited about that. But I'm not too excited about Pitch Black though.

    Too bad I live 30 miles from the nearest Walmart. Too bad Mountain Dew doesn't realize not everyone lives near or shops at Walmart.

    I loved Supernova and missed it when it lost. Now that it is coming back for a limited time, I will be stockpiling it!

    Pitch Black was fantastic! I'm glad to see it return. I definitely thought Typhoon was the best of DEWmocracy 2, though it seems a bit soon, and I certainly liked Revolution better than Voltage or SuperNova. Here's hoping it makes a comeback at some point.

    But Pitch Black coming back…fantastic. I need to head down to a convenience store and see when they're getting it in stock.

    I love the Dew Typhoon. Hope it stays permanently. Also, would be nice in cans as well as smaller bottles.
