Bland. Forgotten. Unmemorable. These are the words I would use to describe #21 Chancellor Valorum. I mean, seriously, did this guy do anything of use in The Phantom Menace? A talking dog would have had more personality! Fittingly so, the head of the Republic is situated on a can of Pepsi ONE, also a beverage that is forgotten.
During the 1999 promotion, there were 4 different Pepsi ONE cans represented (not including bonus versions). At the time, Pepsi ONE had only been on the market for 1 year. It’s still around today, but considered a rejected stepchild in the Pepsi lineup.
Here’s the official bio on this can:
As head of the Republic, his ideal is always to preserve peace. But his reign is threatened by the Trade Federation’s scheming ways.
The secret word found on the can was Menace.
The Pepsi ONE cans during the Star Wars promotion were primarily silver, in contrast to the blue on Pepsi, green on Dew, and white on Diet Pepsi. Given the black/white image of the characters used on all these cans, the silver look is probably the best, as it feels uniform in design and eye attention.
“Welcome, your highness pop can. It’s an honor to finally meet you in person!”
