Review: Arizona Arnold Palmer Half & Half Strawberry

It's pretty well established that Arizona's Arnold Palmer line of Half & Half drinks has been quite successful. The often-copied combination of half lemonade & half iced tea has defined a popular flavor category across the industry. The latest edition to the franchise is Arizona Arnold Palmer Half & Half Strawberry.

Added to the lineup in October, the black can is pretty hard to miss. Adorned with tiny red strawberries and a monochrome image of Arnold Palmer, like most Arizona drinks, this beverage comes in a 23 oz aluminum can.

I wondered exactly which of the halves contained strawberry. Did it feature strawberry lemonade or strawberry iced tea? More likely than not, the strawberry flavor was just added to the existing half & half combination.

Let's get to the taste! When poured, this drink looks like an iced tea, with a light brown color, perhaps with a slightly pink hue. Scent is quite sweet with a hint of strawberry. That sweetness extends to the flavor itself. A sip begins with a lemon-influenced iced tea taste, but then the strawberry flavor just washes in and pleasantly overwhelms. The way the strawberry flavor accents this drink is very similar to our experience with Arizona's Golden Bear Strawberry Lemonade. The regular flavor is quite present, but then the strawberry makes it something quite different, in a good way.

It should be noted that while this drink is primary sweetened by high fructose corn syrup, there's also a tiny bit of sucralose and Ace-K to cut the calorie count a bit.

Overall, this flavor combo is a winner. Regular Half & Half was already good, but the addition of strawberry makes it a bit smoother, while still being uniquely sweet and flavorful. Thumbs up!

I totally agree with this review! The flavor is AWESOME….I like the duality of the flavors..the bitter of the tea first, THEN the sweet of the strawberry..just enough to not overpower or be too sweet..

It tastes great! But technically it's a Strawberry Mark Steffenhagen. :)

  3. I love the Arnold Palmer line of drinks, but the Liquid Water Enhancer in the Strawberry Half and Half flavor tastes like Redman chewing tobacco. If you don't use quite as much, it's not as evident, but when mixed normally, it definitely has that aftertaste. This is something several of my friends and I agree on as well, so it's not just my crazy taste buds.
