Can Holiday: World Contact Day – March 15

Origin

The International Flying Saucer Bureau in March 1953.

How to Celebrate

The idea behind World Contact Day is to make peaceful contact with other life forms that are “out there”. You can do so through “Meditation, Intention, Prayer, Thought, or Consciousness“. This year marks the 60th anniversary of World Contact Day and it is being celebrated for a whole week this year. Now there will be more of a chance than ever to “phone home”.

I try my best to avoid using beer-related cans in my reviews; here at BevReview, we stick to non-alcoholic beverage coverage. However, I need to make an exception today because there is a perfect can for this holiday. To honor this day we are featuring the 1998 Grolsh “Contact” can from their Movie Master Set in The Netherlands. On it is the artwork for the poster of the film Contact starring Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey. The film is an adaptation of the novel written by Carl Sagan and is about making first contact with extraterrestrial life.

Happy World Contact Day (3/15)!
