Can Holiday: National Clams on the Half Shell Day – March 31

Origin

Unknown.

How to Celebrate

Option 1: Eat them. Option 2: Read Lewis Carroll’s “The Walrus and the Carpenter.” I’ll gladly opt for option 2. I’m not a big shellfish person. However, they are said to be very good for you. They are high in iron and protein, have lower contaminants than other fish, and are high in Omega-3 fatty acids.

The Cans

To honor this day we are featuring a combination of two cans.

The first is a 1980′s Mott’s Clamato. On the can it says it is “A Deliciously Seasoned Clam and Tomato Flavored Cocktail”.
