World Voice Day began in Brazil in 1999. It was officially recognized in 2002 as “World Voice Day” by the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in the United States.
How to Celebrate
There are many events being held around the globe today specifically to celebrate World Voice Day. Participating in any activity involving your voice or listening to others is what this day is all about. According to the official World Voice Day website:
World Voice Day April 16 is a worldwide annual event devoted to the celebration of the phenomenon of voice.
The aim is to demonstrate the enormous importance of the voice in our daily life, as a tool of communication, and as an application of a large number of sciences, such as physics, psychology, phonetics, art, and biology.
The celebration of the World Voice Day is scattered around the globe, including concerts, symposia, open house at voice clinics and voice education institutes, TV shows, radio programs, flash mobs etc.
To honor this day we are featuring two cans that showcase great vocalists.
The first is a can of 2012 Elvis “All Shook Up” Energy Drink. Elvis was an American singer and actor who also served in the military and earned black belts in Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do (I test for my black belt in Kenpo Karate on June 1).
The second is a can of 2010 Berry-flavored Marley’s Mellow Mood Relaxation Drink. Bob Marley was a Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician best known for his political and peaceful reggae music. I’ve consumed this drink and yes, it definitely “reduces stress & relieves tension.” After drinking it, I was so carefree and laid-back that absolutely nothing irritated, bothered, or worried me.
