How to Celebrate
Great Poetry Reading Day is a day to specifically read poetry. You can read it out loud to others or to yourself, as long as you read some poetry. On March 26th — Robert Frost Day — I told you about his works, “The Road Not Taken” and “Fire and Ice”. If you haven’t read them yet, today would be a good day to do that. I am also a fan of Edgar Allan Poe. If you would like to read some of his work today, I recommend reading “The Raven”.
To honor this day we are featuring a can of 1997 Vimto Fruit Drink from Great Britain. On it is “A Poem About Clubbing” by Purple Ronnie. It reads:
When I go out clubbing
Everyone just stares
Cos I buy a can of Vimto
And I stuff it down my flares
Happy Great Poetry Reading Day (4/28)!
