How to Celebrate
Lost Sock Memorial Day is a tribute to those who have fallen in the line of laundry duty. All too often these brave foot coverings disappear from battle. Perhaps they just can’t stand their commitment to service, after all, the foot is the sweatiest part of the body. Maybe even the odor of their job is enough to force them to make their great escape to start over as a sock puppet. Whatever the reason, today is the day to recognize and honor our loyal heroes who have not made it home to the sock drawer. So gather some friends and put together a sock hop with the Dirty Sock Funtime Band in remembrance of lost socks everywhere.
To celebrate this day, we selected the 1984 Dr Pepper American Style Socks Can from Great Britain. On the front of the can it says, “Fantastic American Style Socks Offer, See Reverse”. On the back of the can is an advertisement for “stylish” Dr Pepper tube socks – “These top quality white knee length American style tube socks can be yours for only 99p (plus 16p post & packaging) and 2 Dr Pepper ring pulls.” Does this offer sound too good to be true? This stylish offer is absolutely fantastic, and hurry because time is running out, “Closing date for receipt of applications: 31st December 1984″.
Happy Lost Sock Memorial Day (5/9)!
