Can Holiday: National Waiters and Waitresses Day – May 21

How to Celebrate

Today is a good day to go out to eat at your favorite restaurant or try something new.  Wherever you end up, your waiter or waitress will determine whether your experience is a good one or a bad one.  They are the face and personality of the restaurant and have the power to convince you to come back in the future.  With a role that important, you would think they get paid more than minimum wage.  Therefore, please tip you waiters and waitresses well as most of their income is from tips, not their hourly pay. If you are a waiter or waitress, today is a good day to show your customers why they should come back to your restaurant and why they should request you to serve them.

To celebrate this day, we selected the 1986 Coca-Cola Centennial Celebration Can 2 of 6 from New Zealand – featuring a waiter.  On it are the words, “6,000,000 A DAY – In fact, Coca Cola has an average sale of more than six million drinks for every day in the year. It has the charm of purity. Refresh Yourself! Five Cents Is The Price”

Happy National Waiters and Waitresses Day (5/21)!
