Can Holiday: Donald Duck Day – June 9

Origin

Donald Duck Day celebrates Donald Duck's birthday on June 9, 1934. On this day he made his cartoon debut in Walt Disney's Silly Symphony, "The Wise Little Hen".

How to Celebrate

You can celebrate Donald Duck day by watching some Donald Duck cartoons. You can start with "The Wise Little Hen". As "corny" as you may think this classic cartoon may be, it does feature a good life lesson based on an old Russian Folk tale. See if you can spot the cans. Let us know in the comments section how many different cans you find. You can also celebrate by finding a can of any available flavor of the brand mentioned below. If all else fails, you can wear a sailor shirt and hat, with no pants and talk like a Donald for a day.

To celebrate this day, we selected the 1954 can of Donald Duck Cola. It is a blue steel can with a Donald's head as part of the logo underneath his name. Below Donald is "Cola" in script and "Trademark Copyright Walt Disney Productions". On the side of the can we see Donald's nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie all with a glass of Donald Duck Cola.

Happy Donald Duck Day (6/9)!
