“On July 5, 1946, French designer Louis Reard unveils a daring two-piece swimsuit at the Piscine Molitor, a popular swimming pool in Paris. Parisian showgirl Micheline Bernardini modeled the new fashion, which Reard dubbed “bikini,” inspired by a news-making U.S. atomic test that took place off the Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Ocean earlier that week.” (Source)
How to Celebrate
You can celebrate Bikini Day by wearing or admiring the bikini.
To celebrate this day, we selected the 2013 Coca-Cola Miss Bikini Can from Hungary. This is can 4 of 6 in the “Neked is egy” (Translated: “You can be a”) set. Therefore the words on this plain can say “You can be a Coca-Cola Miss Bikini”.
Happy Bikini Day (7/5)!
