Review: Tejava Unsweetened Premium Iced Tea

Packaged in an attractive 12 oz glass bottle, Tejava Unsweetened Premium Iced Tea is a product of the Crystal Geyser Water Company, which also makes mineral water and a bottled juice product. So what makes this bottled tea different from the rest?

Curiously, this is the only flavor in the lineup for Tejava. It’s unsweetened… and that’s it. The ingredients are simple: tea brewed from select tea leaves and water. The story on the label talks about the tea being sourced from the island of Java, part of Indonesia in Southeast Asia. The product makes the case that these specific leaves, along with a microbrew process, produce the full-bodied flavor found inside.

I’m not the biggest unsweetened tea fan, but Tejava fits the category rather well. The flavor is dominated by a watery taste, which isn’t surprising, given the ingredients. However, the tea flavor is light, clean, and refreshing. You aren’t bogged down in syrupy flavors or overtly sweet additives. While it may not be my “cup of tea” (groan), for a pure tea product, Tejava is impressive for the quality and clear flavor it delivers.
