Squirt Citrus Power is a enjoyable citrus soda/energy drink hybrid. The increase in caffeine, addition of taurine and B vitamins, and unique grapefruit taste make this a nice addition to the market. The familiarity of the brand and intentional courting of the casual beverage fan could be very positive for this flavor extension.

Full Throttle Fury is a decent-tasting, orange-flavored energy drink. It’s superior in many ways to Coke’s original Full Throttle. Only the confusing packaging really hurts the beverage overall.

Full Throttle is an energy drink brand owned by The Coca-Cola Company. It debuted in 2004 as Coke’s response to the growing energy drink market, led by the likes of Monster and Red Bull. Frankly, it has a citrus flavor, but with a horrid aftertaste that I’d describe akin to drinking carbonated cleaning solution. Very medicinal. Yuck!

Confirmed: Amp Energy Elevate (Mixed Berry), Amp Energy Traction (Grape), and Amp Energy Relaunch (Orange). These 3 flavor extensions of the Amp Energy brand further build its identity away from the original inspiration, Mountain Dew.

Just as Mountain Dew Code Red is the cherry-flavored version of the flagship brand, so is Amp Energy Overdrive to the original Amp Energy. This is an energy drink loaded with almost twice the caffeine of standard Mountain Dew, while also promoted as containing the head-scratching ingredient of “yerba mate”.

Since our first review of Amp Energy in 2005, much has changed with this energy drink, including logo, design, marketing direction, and size of packaging. This beverage review takes a look at these updates via Amp Energy Tall Boy, the 16 oz. version of the Mountain Dew-influenced drink. This brand seems to be slated for some nice growth.
